Mother Earth News Egg Study

In 2007, Mother Earth News published the results of nutritional testing between pasture-raised eggs compared to conventionally produced eggs. According to the survey, pasture-raised eggs contained:

  • 1/3 less cholesterol
  • 1/4 less saturated fat
  • 2/3 more vitamin A
  • 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids
  • 3 times more vitamin E
  • 7 times more beta carotene

Mother Earth News also studied heritage breed chickens in 2005 and found that the eggs had 50 percent more vitamin 3, 50% less cholesterol, and three times more beta carotene.
